Fleas

It is a common misconception that if you do not have any pets in your home that you cannot have a flea infestation. This unfortunately causes individuals to overlook fleas as being the pest in which they have inside their home. Fleas can find their way into your home via other pests that invade your home, i.e. mice. There are also the cases where you pick up a flea while staying in someone else’s home that clings to your belongings and makes your home its new home.

Fleas are so small 1.5 to 3 mm, which makes simply spotting them around the home rather hard. It is common to only determine fleas as the pest you have in your home only after you have been bitten by them. However, the flea itself is not the biggest problem, it is the eggs in which they may have laid around your home. For every flea you see there could be hundreds of eggs and larvae around your home in places such as couches, carpet, rugs, etc.

The worry that comes with having fleas are the diseases in which they can carry. Fleas are known to carry diseases such as tapeworm, typhus, plague, tularemia and tungiasisDue to the severity of these diseases if you suspect that you may have a flea infestation in your home do not hesitate to call a pest control company. Due to the small size of the flea and the eggs they lay it is important to have an expert come to your home to ensure that your home is completely rid of fleas.
