Millipedes are similar to centipedes in that they have many, many legs, but are significantly different looking other wise. Millipedes are black or brown and have wormy characteristics. They can primarily be found exterior, but occasionally will sneak in. They consume dead leaves and plant matter, and can be found in soil, under leaves and rocks etc. They do not pose any threat to humans as the species in America do not bite and do not swarm or cause significant damages to crops.
