Skunks are most often black with a white stripe down the back, but can be brown or grey, and more uncommonly cream or white. They are known for their familiar musky spray that is released when feeling threatened. A Skunks diet varies widely and includes insects, plants, worms, larvae, lizards, birds, moles, etc. They have even been known to eat the contents of bee and wasp nests. Skunks are the most common animal to carry diseases such as rabies or distemper, so it is important to remove them from areas they frequent that are inhabited by people.
