When it comes to controlling pests, ticks are at the top of my list. Not only are ticks creepy and a nuisance, but they can also be dangerous to humans and animals alike. I used to think that there was nothing worse or more disgusting than the idea of a blood-sucking tick being on my body. That was before I learned about Lyme disease.

Lyme disease is an infection that is caused by bacteria passed from a tick and should be taken very seriously. Lyme disease is a multisystem inflammatory disease. Symptoms can include, in the early days, a rash, fever, chills, and swollen lymph nodes. If any of these symptoms present, please contact a medical professional before things get worse. In later days,  Lyme disease can present as severe joint pain, neurological problems, heart problems and liver inflammation.
